Kate MacAlister writes at the intersection of ritual and resistance. A poet, filmmaker, intersectional feminist and life-long anti-fascist with a taste for megaphones over open mics, her work conjures the body as both battleground and spellbook. She studied Creative Writing at the Manchester Writing School under the guidance of Carol Ann Duffy. She’s the author of two full-length collections of feminist poetry (
Querencia Press and
Sunday Mornings at the River), and part of the poetry film collective C.Moss, where she’s written, produced, and directed two award-winning films that blur the line between magic and reality. She’s the founder of Stimmen der Rebellion / Dengê Berxwedane / Voices of Rebellion, a multilingual community project that amplifies voices usually left out of the canon. For over five years, she’s held space through poetry workshops for women and genderqueer folk, and served as the project’s Editor-in-Chief. Website:
