In the Event that You Die First

I would eventually owe you deathbed memories so I made sure to copy everything down. I cannot remember much after you. Probably I went to bed for a very long time. Too long. So long our mothers were worried.
When I woke I told my father —or was it my uncle?— about the strange dream I must
have had. After telling someone about the strange dream I went looking for a cave or an ocean. Everyone must do this after a long sleep.

We go searching for the bottom not found in daylight.

I looked a long time for this ocean or this hole or this under-water-cave.

I found one at the end of a stick I had used to dig up the carcass of an old heart. I
brought it to the water-cave.

I wanted to move in but could not write under water.
